What Are The Best Arcade Game?

The arcade game, Space Invaders is one of the best games that were ever invented and it made its world debut in 1978. Although some say the golden age of video games was all started in the 1980's for me it started in 1978.

I know that there are so many other newer games that have much more advanced technology, for example Pac man in 1980 and the famous Donkey Kong in 1981 just to name a few but this is the game that I grew up on. This arcade game was so simple yet so intriguing to play.

Once I started to play I just simply could not stop playing. It is based on the KISS method keep it simple stupid method. It was actually two games combined into one game. You had a ship with a canon at the bottom of the screen and you had unlimited ammunition that you had to shoot upwards at the aliens and ships moving down across the screen at you.

As time goes on they fired missiles at you and you move from left to right or right to left. Dodging missiles and shooting down everyone in site. If they got passed you then you were in big trouble. Let's not forget that every time you beat one level you knew that on the next one that all of the things were going to get faster and faster.

When I was about 11 years old I use to sneak over to my older sisters friends house since so that I could get the money to play at the local arcade. She would make me clean her room before she gave me the money but it was worth it. Then Atari came out with the console version and you played this awesome arcade game in your very own house. It was dreams come true for many of us.

As I think back it is simply amazing how far this industry has truly come in such a very short time. Back when arcade games first came out there was hardly any games, now there are hundreds of arcade games to choose from. For example you can go online and find unlimited websites offering all kinds of free access to games of all kinds. It's just amazing, more importantly the technology which is improving every month is nothing short of astonishing would you agree.
